There are certain times when we like to indulge in a drink from the coffee shops but what is better than making a hot cup of drink in the comfort of your home? If you have this pumpkin spice syrup handy, you may whip up your choice of latte, cappuccino or mocha in no time with half the price of course.
To make this recipe you need very few ingredients and is done in 15 minutes from start to finish. Favorite holiday spices are blended in with the pumpkin puree to give a robust pumpkin flavored syrup. No wonder why this is the holiday favorite. It is so much fun to make your own syrup at home. Tips:
While straining the liquid try to use a fine mesh strainer or cheese cloth. Do not use coffee filters or paper towels. Those won’t work. Store in a clean bottle or container of your choice in the refrigerator for a month.

PUMPKIN SPICE SYRUP
- YIELD: 6-8 Servings

Favorite holiday spices are blended in with the pumpkin puree to give a robust pumpkin flavored syrup. No wonder why this the holiday favorite.
INGREDIENTS
- 1 1/2 cups sugar
- 4-5 medium cinnamon sticks
- 1 teaspoon nutmeg freshly ground
- 1/2 teaspoon ground ginger
- 1/2 teapsoon ground cloves
- 3 tablespoon pumpkin puree
- 1 1.2 cups water
INSTRUCTIONS

- Combine the sugar and water in a saucepan and bring to a boil over medium heat. When the sugar is dissolved add the cinnamon sticks and whisk in the ground spices and pumpkin puree. Lower the heat and continue to cook for 5-6 minutes stirring in between. Do not let the mixture come to a boil.
- Turn off the heat. Let the syrup cool down for sometime. Strain the syrup through a fine mesh strainer. Store in a clean container.
- Use to prepare your favorite cup of latte or mocha. Enjoy!
