Couple of weeks back I was invited to an event to taste delicious food paired with variety of organic, handcrafted sodas along with few other Los Angeles food bloggers. The evening was well spent with foodies, great food and drinks! The event was hosted by Craft Shack, a newly open restaurant by Simms Restaurants group in El Segundo. A big thanks to Jasmyn for inviting me to the event.
Tractor Soda Co has 100% natural, organic, GMO free handcrafted sodas with ingredients sourced directly from the farmers. They create farm to fountain sodas without any artificial color, flavor, sweeteners or preservatives. They sustainably source all certified organic, non-GMO ingredients from around the world. The sodas are handcrafted by selecting and pairing distinctive flavors from the natural ingredients. There are variety of flavors to choose from like, coconut, cucumber, cherry cream, blood orange, lemongrass and root beer. The natural ingredients that are used to bring out the flavors is quite exciting. Coconut with hint of lemon, cucumber with spirulina, blood orange with pomegranate and turmeric, cherry cream with licorice and nutmeg and finally lemongrass with orange, lime, lemon, grapefruit and turmeric.
Not only the sodas taste refreshing and made with natural healthy ingredients but also is eco-friendly. The farm to fountain model cuts down on storage, emissions and waste. These sodas are only available in fountain style in restaurants that means no cans and bottles, no plastic, no preservatives and hence no waste. The other good thing about these sodas is that they are half the calories of the traditional sodas. It is good to know that originally sodas were used as an elixir for health and wellness. Tractor Soda Co. mission is to take soda back to its roots.
The food at Craft Shack was delicious. I had a grilled chicken sandwich with grilled corn on the cob, paired with blood orange soda and spicy poke taco paired with coconut soda. The Restaurant is set in a beautiful ambience and at a great location at The Point, El Segundo. They have a wide array of food from burgers, quesadillas to salads.
I thoroughly enjoyed the evening with good food, drinks and lovely people. Would definitely go back and try some other food from the menu. If you are at Los Angeles near the Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) then make sure to give this place a try.
